Day 3 July 8, 2011

Today our Art History Class visited the Roman Forum. This is the heart of Ancient Rome and almost every event of importance in the city's development, from the time of the kings through the Republican and Imperial eras to the Middle Ages is reflected there. Afterwards we walked up Palatine Hill, south of and above the Roman Forum. This is where the primitive city was founded and many Imperial palaces were built. Next we stopped in at a Pizzeria for lunch and finally visited the Colosseum, the largest amphitheatre ever built by the Romans. Here are some photos from the afternoon.
