Day 8 Wednesday July 13th

Today we visited the Baths of Diocletion, the grandest of the public baths or thermae built by successive emperors. Specifically we visited the Basilica of Santa Maria Degli Angeli e del Martini, built in the tenidarium of the baths. While there, I bought at Saint Rita necklace at the Basilica gift shop.

Afterwards we went to the Museo Nazionale Romano, specifically, the Palazzo Massimo. On the first floor were a number of exhibits which included masterpieces of ancient sculpture such as the infamous Boxer at Rest. On the second floor was the Discus Thrower sculpture as well as a number of works depicting the Roman emperors and their families. On the third floor were a number of frescoes and mosaics. 

After class we all ate at McDonalds and went back to campus to swim. Later I had dinner near campus with Kayla. I got tortellini with prosciutto. Afterwards Kayla and I stayed in and watched a movie.
