Tuesday our class visited the Largo di Torre Argentina, a square in Rome that hosts four Republican Roman temples and the remains of Pompey's Theater. It is in the ancient Campus Maritus. Next we visited the Column of Marcus Aurelius, a Roman victory column built in honor of Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius. We then stopped for a Panino and Gelato at Giolitti. Afterwards we stopped at the museum which houses the Ara Pacis, or the Altar of Peace, consecrated by Augustus in 13 B.C. Lastly we stopped at the Pantheon, a building commissioned by Marcus Agrippa as a temple to all the gods of Ancient Rome. After class Kayla and I had dinner at a Pizzeria and later everyone went to Scholars for Karaoke Night.
